Adoption is really amazing. We have been home a little over 4 weeks with baby girl.....and it is like she has always been part of our lives. We are amazed at the love we feel for her and the love we are receiving from this little person. (Being the recipient of hugs and "open mouth" kisses from a 13 month old truly cannot be described in words.) Watching her fall asleep with a gentle smile on her face.....seeing her light up when Daddy or big brother (and sissy too!) come home...indescribable. Love is such a gift.....it is such a blessing to receive....but even more of a blessing to give. Baby girl seems to bring out the best in everyone....even complete strangers (we average about 6 people daily just coming over to us to ask about this sweet child...touch her hand....or just say hello) She is a ministry of love!
I caught myself looking at her yesterday wondering what her life was really like during the first 12 months....we have little glimpses of it....but what was it really like? We will never truly know - but do know that I sincerely thank those that cared for her during that year....they taught her to love and laugh.....and she does that with great abandon.
Our family is blessed....with love and laughter.
