Sunday/Monday Spotlight - the birthdays

Just a little sampler of the birthday (and gotcha day!) festivities today....
Celebrating Ayden #5, Sam #20 and Alec Gotcha day #2!
Ayden woke up this morning and asked me...
Is this the day?
Am I really 5 years old?
Finally?
We had a fun time - with hotdogs and brats and the fixins. The John Deere tractor theme....
The singing and blowing out of candles.
And laughter.
And lots of candles and singing!
And joy (he finally got the "DS" he had been praying for...)
We swam.
and swam....
and swam.
And made sure no one drowned (Korb has no fear).
And when we got too cold from swimming - we talked people into giving us rides in the wagon!
It was a beautiful day....
for wagon rides....especially if you can take your snacks and relax.
We had jeep driving - of course!
And popsicle eating!
And finally....
bedtime.

Saturday

It was a great day...it was a LONG day.  We finalized the purchase of our new crazy summertime escape - our new camper....we drove in to see our sweet baby Rae (and the parents too!) - then picked up the camper...backed it up the driveway (yikes)....set it up and camped in it!  Wow!
Just got word that the Clark family is headed home right now
and Miss Rae is doing great!

Raena Joy's Birthday!

Miss Raena Joy was born today!
9:03AM
6 lbs. 8 oz.
19.5 inches long
Mommy and Daddy
Our Rockstars!
Miss Rae came a bit quicker
than anyone ever dreamed.
The anesthesiologist never even made it to the room...
so no epidural.
The doctor barely made it to the room...
so no real prep time.
The Grandma who thought the labor would last all day...
did not make it to the room....
until 10:15.
Rockstar Mom went "au natural" whether she wanted to or not!
But...Baby Rae is perfect in every way.
Eats like a champ...
and gets high scores from all the doctors and nurses...
as just about the cutest baby ever!
Her delivery may have been a bit rough on her little head and face...
but as the day progressed her features were getting
less swollen.
She is beautiful.
Daddy and Mommy are in awe...
That they created this beautiful little girl.
Our precious gift.

50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration!

We are so excited to be preparing to celebrate
the 50th Wedding Anniversary of two very special people in our lives.
It is going to be a fun filled afternoon!
Lot's of great conversation, fun photos and music, yummy food...
so if you ever knew my mom and dad...
and feel like taking a road trip.
We would love to see you!
******
And I am thinking the great grandchild "on the way"
might even get to attend.
My guess this afternoon was that
she would join Sam and Ayden for a crazy birthday weekend.
Sunday May 29
5AM
7 lbs 8 oz.
20 1/2 inches long
To be honest - I think I should have guessed Saturday 5AM....
(I do believe she might be here sooner than anyone planned!)
Anyone else care to take a "guess?"

some stuff just makes you happy...

This beautiful little face and her quirky, darling little mannerisms....
just makes me happy.
Watching this precious girl....
Swing with absolute joy.
Watching a big brother teach his little brother...
How to catch.
Cause Tball starts Friday.
And you gotta be a little prepared.
Yep - stuff like this just makes a person....plain old happy.
Especially in the midst of all the chaos that this world has to offer.
Gotta enjoy those happy moments.

Sunday Spotlight- What a weekend!

Baby Rae...getting a hug.
Can't wait to meet you!!!
Playing kickball in the Clark backyard!

Today...trying out the pool...to see if it was level (not really) but fun anyway!
Poor Ava - her asthma was bad today ....and she was running a fever.
She tries to have fun (such a good sport)...
but had to take alot of breaks...

Soccer player...you think maybe?
goofy boy
Pretty normal actually - at least one crying...for no apparent reason really.
Tooth #2 is waiting under a pillow tonite...and still 8 days away from being 5 years old!

We had an excellent weekend...despite the asthma and illness hanging around.
We road tripped to KC to have "birthday dinner" with our eldest daughter...
and Aaron (and baby Rae) and Claire and Sophie too.
and on the way we purchased...
a new travel trailer!
We are all super excited!
Branson was so much fun...
but the traveling down there was a bit difficult.
5 kinda yucky bathrooms later we decided maybe...
a travel trailer for the next few years
might just suit us fine!
Look out BEACH.
Here we come!
