Sunday spotlight - Halloween weekend!

What a fun, insanely busy weekend we had.
The pictures give you a bit of an idea of how crazy and fun it was...
but without hearing the noise level..
you really cannot comprehend!
So I will just give you a list of everything we tried to accomplish...
this gorgeous October weekend.
Friday night.
Aaron, Erin and Rae came home!
Korby spent the night...
we all got some sleep...
but really not nearly enough.
Saturday...
we had a yummy breakfast (Daddy's famous french toast!)
Attempted some family pictures...
Erin & I practiced our music for Sunday...
All the grandparents came to visit at some point or another...
Shannon continued to lay our wood floor(it is SO beautiful!)
And we tried to keep kids out of his way!
Saturday night we went out on the town..
Kris & Shelby, Erin & Aaron and Shannon and me!
Food was yummy and the band was terrific!
Kids had a babysitter and had a wonderful time.
Sunday morning we all woke up early.
and rushed into church to sing at both services.
Came home and quickly picked up the mess from getting ready to go to church..
And started working on lunch!

The costumes were hilarious once again this year!
And lunch was yummy
(even if Claire and Roxie got to eat most of Kristi's chili that had a wreck in the driveway!)
We celebrated some birthdays...
and part of the gang went in to watch Ayden's last soccer game!

Rae allowed us all to cuddle and love her as much as we wanted.
Her stranger fear was contained for most of the weekend...
and she was absolutely precious!
And after everyone went home...
we ran into church to watch a very special concert!

And now...everyone
is
FAST ASLEEP!

over the top....

Over the top - that has been our motto lately!  We have been over the top busy...over the top chaos and over the top fun!
In between a Saturday full of wedding photography (I'll share a couple samples on my photo blog!) and a date with my husband....(thank you Aunt Kristi and gang!)
A Sunday of getting ready for church and not making it there....??
Soccer game (Ayden scored 2 goals!)
we made a quick trip
to the Pumpkin Patch!

(Ayden does not suffer from sensory issues anymore I'm thinkin.)

it was a gorgeous, gorgeous afternoon.  Too bad I was completely wiped out...
either I overdid on Saturday...or had a little bug...
that continued to hang on until yesterday.
But back on track again...and hopefully we will get our floor installed before this weekend because....
Baby Rae is coming home to visit (and her mommy and daddy too!)
So excited to hold and cuddle this little munchkin!

Sunday Spotlight - from the IPAD...or so I thought

I am seriously struggling with "blogger" tonite. I couldn't get any photos or video to post from my new IPAD which I totally LOVE - but now I think it might have been a blogger thing.  And our home computer is in pieces because we have everything torn up to lay our wood floor (that we have had in our garage for a year)...and blogger is was not even working from my work laptop.  (but now it is!!)

I haven't gotten my camera out all weekend.  We had Korby with us Friday and Saturday night...tore up all our carpeting in the dining room, prepared the floor for our new flooring, textured the ceiling, made and enjoyed a fun Friday night dinner with friends, sang in choir, went to a soccer game (Ayden played GREAT!), and now are sitting down for the first time in days!

Alec entertained us tonite dressed in his superman costume - you all would recognize him as "pooperman" and he would definitely be coming to your rescue!  This guy  makes us laugh daily...he has a very funny sense of humor.  His upper belly has really bothered him this weekend - so I will be pursuing a new medication and maybe an ultrasound tomorrow  Poor guy - it really cramps his style and no one can seem to figure out what it exactly is.  MRI is trying to be scheduled to rule out any NF1 activity - but we have to get a cardiology consult before the anesthesiologist will approve the anesthesia.  Hopefully tomorrow we can get that squared away too.

Ava will be sporting some new glasses soon ( well as soon as we can get her in to try some on) to see if that might help her one eye from drifting...or we will be scheduling surgery in February.  Her eye sight is actually quite good - it is that exotropia that is still causing some problems.  She adores dance class and starts asking when it is again - the day after we just went!

We have our first parent teacher conference this week for Mr. Ayden - I feel like he is doing great - hopefully his teacher feels the same!  He really really enjoys the structure of school....and seems to be doing excellent. He has matured SO much these past 6 months - it is so wonderful.  He is also a natural soccer player...so fun to watch him in action.  He is crazy fast.

Korbyn is talking up a storm - and is definitely a 2 year old!  She loves her Lala, Lalec and Layden SO much.  It is wonderful that they go to the same daycare - they hug each other every morning - so cute.  She is a loving and happy girl (most of the time) and we thoroughly enjoy her time with us.

Well - time to check the Cardiinals baseball game and hit the sack!

It was a busy week.
Pink Ribbon Golf Tournmament Monday...
Pink Ribbon 5K on Saturday.
(I think this is the 8th year I have volunteered at this event!)
Gorgeous days!
Wonderful birthday celebration...

lots of hugs...
and a yummy dinner and homeade cheesecake!
And it was homecoming week...
Ayden dressed up in 50s attire for one spirit day...
and we enjoyed watching the King & Queen crowning Friday night too.
We started tearing apart our dining room...
hope to get our wood floor down by Thanksgiving!
So excited!

Sunday Spotlight...October

It was a great weekend...
with a little cuddle time with both our grandbabies,,
at some point or another!
Erin had a retreat at the lake this week...
so Rae hung out with our Rocky Mount families!
(thank you Ron, Carol, Carol, Kristi, Shelby, Lee and Savana!)
The weather was gorgeous.
And so are our girls!
It was Mom's birthday weekend too!
We spent most of Saturday together...
at a wonderful Thyroid Cancer Event at the Lake..
(with a yummy lunch and a little shopping)
Today we celebrated with homeade ice cream and cookies..
and then all of us headed in to watch Ayden play soccer.
(He made 2 goals!)
We spent alot of time outside.
Rae even thought it was warm enough for
"baby in a tub" pictures!
And some "dress up" on the fur blanket pictures!
She is just so beautiful!
The boys had a great time at the Air Show Saturday...
They got to sit in a fire engine, saw a race car up close,
lots of planes and helicopters!
Raena has started eating cerearl - so we tried out her bumbo Friday.
Her legs stick straight out - so funny!
And of course we had a little fire and some smores...
which is always a bit frightening for the parents..
but then again - what isn't frightening around here?
