It has been a strange day for our family. A day of praying for the people of Haiti....and hugging and kissing our son until he told us to "quit kissing (with a smile)".
Ayden's orphanage - Children of the Promise escaped any damage.......it is on the north side of Haiti near Cap Haitien. The worry now will be supplies...and more babies than they can handle.
The lawyer from Port au Prince that helped us with our paperwork had a roof fall on him and jumped to safety from a 2nd story window. His office was demolished(on the left in the picture below)his orphanage is still standing and the children and his family are safe. Ayden went to this office when he flew from Cap Haitien to Port au Prince to get his medical exam and his VISA.

The many missionary families and other orphanages I keep track of are all safe.
But the devastation is so immense...it just makes our hearts hurt.
For a country who struggled on it's best day - now to face this overwhelming devastation.
I worry for families who are in process to adopt...and what may be happening to their paperwork in the midst of all the chaos.
Haiti will need all our prayers....
